We are looking for a graduate and/or under-graduate to join our close-knit team. You will work closely with our Senior Accountants and Managers learning how to prepare financial statements and tax returns for a broad range of business clients. You will sit in on client meetings, develop client relationships and follow up on queries/missing information. This role is designed to accelerate your professional development through exposure to diverse technical tasks and client interactions, supporting your progression to more senior roles.

We are looking for a graduate and/or under-graduate to join our close-knit team. You will work closely with our Senior Accountants and Managers learning how to prepare financial statements and tax returns for a broad range of business clients. You will sit in on client meetings, develop client relationships and follow up on queries/missing information. This role is designed to accelerate your professional development through exposure to diverse technical tasks and client interactions, supporting your progression to more senior roles.
- Learn how to prepare complex individual tax returns (including CGT Schedules) using our electronic work papers.
- Learn how to prepare financial statements, tax returns, BAS’s and FBT returns for businesses using our electronic work papers.
- Sit in on client appointments and liaise with clients on queries and information required.
- Develop an excellent knowledge of core tax and specific tax issues such as PSI, FBT, Superannuation rules, Div7A etc.
- Become an advanced user of key cloud accounting packages such as Xero, QBO and MYOB.
- Become fully certified in at least Xero.
- Become an advanced user of firm internal software and identify areas for efficiencies, improvements and alternatives with better capability, where appropriate.
- Required: Bachelor of Commerce (or similar) with a major in Accounting
- Desired: Commencement of CA or CPA Program
- You enjoy building relationships with clients and co-workers and are friendly, likeable and courteous.
- You are positive, enthusiastic and confident to take on challenges.
- You like opportunities to be exposed to a range of clients and technical work.
- You are detail orientated and ensure that your work is accurate.
- You are able to manage multiple tasks/items on your to do list, and can identify competing priorities and ask for help from your manager to prioritise.
- You are a quick learner who isn’t afraid to ask questions and doesn’t make the same mistake twice.
- You enjoy the technical side of accounting and tax and you have the desire to develop your knowledge and skills in order to progress quickly to more senior roles.
- You are future focussed – acting today to ensure our team and our clients can achieve their goals.
